The annual Vitality Oxford Half Marathon run is upon us again and The MGroup is raring to go. This year’s team comprises ex-Oxford United footballer Steve Basham, John Ayres, J-P Cleaver and new recruit Max Hazell. They will be pounding the Oxford streets in aid of SeeSaw, a charity set up to help bereaved children in Oxfordshire. They will be trying to raise at least £250 each towards this worthy cause.
The run, covering 13.1 miles of stunning Oxford buildings and beauty spots, is on Sunday 9th October, starting at 9.30am. It starts in Broad Street and, via many roads in between, heads up and down Banbury Road and Marston Ferry Road (with a lap around Marston thrown in) before meandering its way through the University Parks, round the Radcliffe Camera, and ending up back at Broad Street.
Why not come and cheer the team on. Steve and J-P will be trying to beat last year’s times of 1 hour 37mins 30 secs and 2 hours 10mins 10 secs respectively, while John is hoping to run in under 2 hours and Max is aiming to finish the race in one piece! Better still, you could help us raise money for SeeSaw by sponsoring our runners (see the links below).

Feeling upbeat about the run Steve said “We’re all really looking forward to this. It’s always a fun event and we’re doing it for a great cause. SeeSaw is a charity we love supporting at The MGroup“.
The MGroup are staunch supporters of SeeSaw. Described as ”the great little charity with the big heart”, SeeSaw depends on the generosity of individuals and organisations to support their services. One third of bereaved children can experience severe difficulties coming to terms with the death of a close family member. SeeSaw supports children at this critical time, so that they can move forward and face the future with hope. SeeSaw’s service includes tailored grief support for children, guidance and support to families, advice and training to professionals and accessible literature and resources.
