We are pleased to say that This years MGroup Team for the Oxford Vitality Half Marathon all successfully completed the run. The team consisted of ex Oxford United footballer Steve Basham, Alice Hillier, George Tattersall and John-Paul Cleaver They were all running in order to raise funds for SeeSaw, a charity set up to help bereaved children in Oxfordshire.Special mention to Alice who had to run the entire course with a stress fracture of the foot. The 13.1 mile race followed a route taking in the Radcliffe Camera, Sheldonian Theatre, Bodleian Library, University Parks, many of Oxford Universitys colleges and other beauty spots. Helen Mackinnon SeeSaw Director said “We would like to thank The MGroup for their ongoing and wonderful support. We are grateful to the team who took part in the event as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary.”
Steve Basham said “this was a fantastic event , very well organised and the new route through the City made the event even more memorable. There was a tremendous turnout with nearly all the streets lined with people cheering the runners on. There were around 7,500 runners taking part. We all really enjoyed the event and are delighted to raise funds for SeeSaw.” The MGroup are staunch supporters of SeeSaw. Described as “the great little charity with the big heart”, SeeSaw depends on the generosity of individuals and organisations to support their services. One third of bereaved children can experience severe difficulties coming to terms with the death of a close family member. SeeSaw supports children at this critical time, so that they can move forward and face the future with hope.
